Wiring Oriental Motor Motors
by David Kohanbash on December 20, 2018
I really like the Oriental Motor motors and gear boxes. The motors work well and they have nice gearbox configurations. In particular I like these for driving wheels on medium size robots.
While I really like the products, the company support is lacking. In particular they will not give out the wiring instructions or detailed specifications for their products.
This is just a quick post as a wiring guide for the Oriental Motors motors. I have successfully used these colors on several DC brushless motors that they sell. However I can not make any guarantees that the motors you purchase will be the same.
For the motor power wires here are the wire colors:
Wire | Function |
Purple | Phase A |
Blue | Phase B |
Grey | Phase C |
For the hall sensor wires:
Wire | Function |
Green | RTN/GND |
Yellow | +5VDC |
Brown | Phase A |
Red | Phase B |
Orange | Phase C |
Hope this helps!
